RYA Dinghy Sailing Courses

Dinghy sailing courses are offered during the group sessions on Tuesday evenings (on a block basis) during the season, with the appropriate levels/stages assessed within the group.
There are normally two blocks on offer during the season, with discounts (and priority) given to members. New members are, of course, welcome to join the club at any time.

ADULT COURSES

• DINGHY LEVEL 1 - START SAILING
  An introduction to sailing dinghies for complete beginners, covering everything you need to know to get afloat under supervision.
• DINGHY LEVEL 2 - BASIC SKILLS
  Build your confidence and develop your skills. By the end of this course you'll be a competent sailor in light winds.
• DINGHY LEVEL 3 - BETTER SAILING
  Improve your sailing consolidating skills and trying new ones in a variety of conditions.

• STAGE 1
  An introduction to the parts of the boat and the basic principles of how to get a boat sailing.
• STAGE 2
  Develop the skills needed to sail around a course and understand the basic principles needed to become a confident sailor.
• STAGE 3
  Build your confidence and develop the skills needed to sail in different directions in moderate conditions.
• STAGE 4 
  Learn how to sail a double-handed boat as crew or helm and solve a variety of problems afloat.

ADVANCED COURSES

• SAILING WITH SPINNAKERS
  Everything you need to know to sail a boat confidently with conventional or asymmetric spinnakers.
• PERFORMANCE SAILING
  Improve your boat handling and confidence in performance dinghies.
