2024 New Year Fling Details.

This year we're pulling out all the stops. Lynne Matthews has been coerced into making mince pies and mulled wine, a cask of ale is set aside from Ovenstone 109 which will be set up in the clubhouse with a rustic hand pull pump as 'sponsorship'  from the brewery. Also, we've got a PA system (which includes a smoke machine and disco lights) for musical delights.

This means we will have all the right ingredients for complete carnage if you so desire. Equally, if you want to quietly sip a mulled wine whilst listening to the Shipping Forecast we can do that too. But I suspect it will be dancing to Abba and attempting some really bad karaoke.

Sailing wise, we fully intend to be on the water so those of us enthusiastic (read: slightly mad) enough can go play. A race or two is planned and the specific details of this will form on the day as it will be very weather dependent. BUT.... as well as sailing round some marks, and in the spirit of 'having a laugh' I'm introducing the Inaugural All Star Craft Ale Dinghy Spill Shootout! A race with only one rule. Get a pint of ale (or soft drink) from the clubhouse round a mark and back again. Fastest wins, time penalty for spillage. 

Details of timings will be shored up a day or so prior, but we're aiming for 13:00 on the water. 13:15 for a race round the marks, then 14:30 for the Craft Ale Spill Shootout with us being showered and back in the clubhouse for 4ish. There or there abouts.
